The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) was signed into law on March 11, 2021, and provides $1.9 trillion in federal funding in two key areas: addressing the COVID-19 virus and providing economic relief. In addition to funding for vaccines, testing, and healthcare needs, the ARPA is aimed at providing relief to educational institutions, state, tribal, and local governments, businesses, and individuals. One of the key housing initiatives is the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), which continues federal support of state and local rental assistance programs across the country.
